LESSONS FROM THE CHILDREN

The Eyes Of Wonder In Our Children

This Christmas I was honored to spend Christmas Eve with my friend's grandchildren.  Not minimizing any religious importance of the season, however I was reminded by these little ones of the great Blessings they bring into our adult lives.

Their eyes filled with exciting wonder, delighted screams of joyous expectation, while coupled with sincere eagerness... accepting new words for the challenges found in brightly colored packages.

Oh what a special night to be reminded of our individual humanity and our responsibility to humankind of tomorrow.
So what of our examples we leave the grandchildren and others who come after? What guides may they ponder their own significance or purpose? Will we leave fear with passive attitudes based on our own Learned Fears.  Or, will we lead by example..... exactly what are the virtues, what is character, or what is humanity's  purpose for continued growth for all humankind.

The Ancient Ones spoke of Virtues being of great value in humankind's quest for Self Discovery to Self Awareness. Virtues are tools, guidelines for Self Discipline and Self Confidence. In essence, "It's About  Character," so to speak, "walk the talk" even when it is inconvenient. (I'm still working on this.) Something to think about from time to time, don't you think!?                                                                                            Have a Healthy and Very Happy New Year!!
