 .Many years I've been like a fly on the wall, just listening, watching and learning. I'm honored to share what I know and understand, including that which I've come to know and identify so far, as racism, prejudice, bigotry and discrimination. Capitalism is over reaching again, using social issues and coded racism to promote fear, doubt and confusion, peppered with slight of hand and mis-direction. Our public attention is hedged now with visions of violence, and missing the reality show, 'how' our reluctance to look beyond skin color, personal apathy, and believing racism has nothing to do with your life, or my life, we have allowed Capitalism, hand in hand with Racism, Politics and Religion control of our Country, our physical bodies, our free will, our minds, and not having a voice, as residents in Michigan, could be an issue, regardless of presidential politics. (the cancer of racism destroys - an infectious disease that effects us all) Is this a time to reflect Abe Lincoln's dilemma? A House divided against Itself cannot Stand! This so-called racial divide, is who we are as everyday Americans, living a middle class existence. There are no laws to enforce or legislate, no Federal programs, nothing. Why? Emotions and feelings cannot be legislated by laws, but does highlight what it is to be human. And, the need to evaluate our own humanity, relevant to humanity as a whole. I do understand what I suggest is difficult, takes courage, and does not happen over night to check yourself out. But, well worth the personal time invested in Self. Race relations is about our Human feelings and coming to know what it is to be human. It is recognizing our own humanity and that of our neighbor, whose skin color may be different from yours or mine. In the end, it is up to you and me to handle who we choose to be, or what dreams to dream. [email protected] |
